If we follow your silly logic of crediting the president with long-term macroeconomic trends, Clinton reduced the budget deficit, Reagan increased it. But let's not get into technicalities.

Hmm, Trent Lott on Chris Matthews' 'Hardball' show. Not bad for a rebuttal candidate, but IMO not the best.

IMO, the two best debaters/speakers in the Republican-controlled Congress are Sen. Orrin Hatch and Rep. J.C. Watts. Hatch and Watts speak in a genuine manner (again, IMO). It doesn't matter if you're rich or poor, conservative or liberal, regardless of your party affiliation, when you listen to Hatch and Watts express their views, you cannot help but shake your head in agreement, or at the very least, appreciate their position. These are two guys that only Saddam Hussein could disagree with. Which explains why C-Span is the only network that gives them primetime airtime.

Also, couldn't help but notice that the biggest Bubba supporter of all, Geralpho, was even hedging himself and looked confused over Bubba's latest propaganda conference. I guess he must be so consumed with looking for the proverbial "hidden vault" where JonBenet's killer is hiding out, that he hasn't had the brainwidth to put his spin on Bubba's efforts to enable Pakistan and North Korea's military.

Now they're showing Al Gore's new commercial, trying to capitalize on this nuke debate. Poor Al, he is as dumb as a post. Has anyone ever asked him to spell "potatoe?" I have to ask, because Bill Clinton is to him what Lucy is to Charlie Brown...my gosh, in the commercials, you can see the fishhook sticking out of Gore's mouth. "We will take this to the American people to decide!!!" Yeah, what a battlecry, let the American people decide if they'd rather:

1.) Maintain their military superiority (that we worked so hard in the 1980's to achieve) over the world; or

2.) Let everyone catch up with us, so that Americans can live in a constant state of fear (maybe while we're at it, we can help the East Germans rebuild the Wall...or at least pay for it, since those damn Reaganites knocked the old one down...).

Memo to self: buy General Dynamics and Raytheon in the IRA if this thing passes.

Cripes, now Ed Koch, democrat of all democrats, is taking Trent Lott's side on the issue. What the hell does that tell you??? Geralpho doesn't back Bubba on the issue and neither does Ed Koch...let's call a spade a spade...Clinton is anti-American. Screw his wife's run for Senate...she can be the first woman member of Mao Tse Tung's gang in the Chinese legislature. I'm sure Bubba's buddy Mr. Wong can tell Bubba where the best golf courses are.
