correct me if I am wrong - 10% chance of hitting oil - uo to 20% with really good geo pictures at best. 12 in a row is not statistically out of the realm in any biz.

This info is very vague but one of the biggies Off newfie hit something like 25 straight dusters.

Merit

those dry wells were listed about Sept 12. Do not know if they were consecutively drilled. They were operating 3-4 drills at the time. Prior to listing the dry wells they listed 3 oil successes weak prior. Drilling stopped for awhile in Sept but week of Oct 8 they list 3 oils and 1 gas with 3 drill rigs operating in there control.
It seems to me they report 10,000 BOPD as there 2000 target on there comp. website. Yet Peters reported 13,000 as the target in recommending there sell for investors.
In 2nd quarter press release 60% of gas not hedged which will be potentially positive.
My problem with Merit is why they have remained quiet while the stock has dropped by 40-50%. A lot of mutual funds own this stock so it could have been under a big tax loss selling the last while. fwiw
