I've noticed that, Tom, my broker charges 7-8 % for margin while GSF is paying 12+. That's about 5% on leveraged money.

Have you or anyone looked into APX, a tax-free muni fund run by Merrill Lynch which is currently yielding 7.4% tax-free (up to 10-11% taxable equivalent depending on your bracket). APX gets its high yield by investing in non-rated bonds rather than leveraging as many high yield bond funds do. APX might be a reasonable alternative to GSF for non-retirement accounts.
