This is a Watershed

Zip disk unit and dollar sales declined year to year. Zip disks are Iomega's most important product.

This news reaffirms the fact that Zip is declining in its old age as better and cheaper technology takes over. I have watched the Zip drive shelf space at CompUSA shrink dramatically over the past year. This is also borne out in the CC as well over 60% of Zip drive sales are OEM.
Simply put, Consumers, when given the choice, now opt more for other storage solutions, rather than dump their money into an old, obsolete product and concept. Only by practically giving drives away to OEM's can Iomega keep up the unit sales numbers.

Floppies/"Superfloppies"- What an Old way of thinking! Thankfully, time marches on in the technology world, and the Old Thinkers get left farther and farther behind until they finally Die.
