Then maybe we should hold AMD to the same standard of judgement when they report Athlon scores with "266 bus and compiler and prefetch optimizations."

I just have a real problem with you accusing Intel of using smoke-n-mirrors to make Coppermine look good. I've seen the internal performance results, and Coppermine 600EB still excels over Katmai 600B in other industry-standard benchmarks like Business Winstone. You'll probably get to see these results for yourself on 10/25. Why not give Intel a little more benefit of the doubt?

Or perhaps you'd like to hold the test efforts of a bunch of Quake-nuts at FiringSquad over those of the professionals at Intel?
