Time Seismic Exchange Ltd. Announces Major 3D Seismic Data Library Program in Canada; Largest Ever in the Alberta Foothills

CALGARY, Alberta (BUSINESS WIRE) - Time Seismic Exchange Ltd., a subsidiary of Veritas DGC Inc. (NYSE:VTS) (TSE:VTS), announced today that it has begun work on the largest non-exclusive 3D seismic data library program ever undertaken in the foothills of Alberta, Canada.
The Redcap/Hanson Foothills 3D program is a 700 square-kilometer 3D seismic survey focused on emerging new gas plays in the Brown Creek area, along the Jasper National Park boundary west of Nordegg. Significant new gas discoveries have been made in this area during the last twelve months.

"This is an intensive data acquisition program, utilizing a tight grid and yielding high-fold 3D coverage," says Richard Earle, President of Time Seismic. "For oil companies who operate in the Alberta foothills, where it can easily cost in excess of $5 million (Cdn) to drill a well, high quality 3D seismic data can be the determining factor between prolific or marginal results."

Field survey operations are well underway, with completion of data recording scheduled for early December.

"Veritas is continuing to push its Foothills 3D program in a pro-active manner," adds Earle. "This latest survey has been well received and strongly supported by industry, further proof that oil companies are embracing 3D technology on a multi-client basis, especially in capital-intensive, high impact areas."

Veritas has recently finished recording a 135 square-kilometer 3D program in the Jarvie area of central Alberta, about 60 miles north of Edmonton. "We are also commencing field operations on an additional 350 square kilometers of new 3D data, and are evaluating an additional 400 square kilometers of new 3D data for our library through the upcoming winter season," says Earle.

Veritas DGC Inc. (NYSE & TSE: VTS), headquartered in Houston, Texas, is a leading provider of integrated geological and geophysical technologies to the petroleum industry worldwide.
