Don,

So it sounds like Rambus is claiming innocence and it's up to Intel to get their act together. So then nothing has
changed, and It doesn't really change anything from what Intel said a few days ago.

Intel said during their CC (or about the same day) that they didn't think they had to change Camino Silicon to fix the problem. Rambus is certainly not changing their design. If these premises are true, the problem is in between the two companies' chips, or on the mobo. That makes it a shared problem to me (throw in boxmakers like Dell). To say that it's just Intel's problem would be like the following scenario: a car engine manufacturer comes out with a super high performance engine, which, however, requires extremely fine tuning of the carburetor and ignition system and everything else around the engine, for the car to run smoothly. For that engine manufacturer to claim it's the car manufacturer's fault when it doesn't run smoothly would be like Rambus saying it's all Intel's problem in the Camino/RDRAM situation.

I know most everyone on this thread has significant money invested in Rambus, and it gets emotional with the stock swings, but for folks to come to technology conclusions without all the technical info, or the background to analyze it, amounts to a lot of arm waving (not trying to pick on you in particular, Don, but your post happened to be there at the time).
