P, Let's see what the underwriters are going to gough us at first. UPS employees I've spoken to look forward to being run by a public company not a private one. UPS almost reminds me of a local utility (COMED). Not much competition, many layers of old time management, churn and burn the part-timers on the unloading line creates a survival of the fittest mentality. E-business will help the revenues increase, but can the company reward shareholders or just be like United or Boeing and make the board richer. The stock owned by longtimers in the company can be worth hundreds of millions. I wonder if they are going to sell at the end of the lockup period. That won't help the stock price. I probably will stay away at opening prices above $40. Jack

Patriarch,

>Boy is this thread dead. As per Hoovers, IPO is scheduled for Monday, November 1, 1999. Any comments?<

Only one. I'm surprised that this thread hasn't started heating up by now. Probably will in the next couple weeks though. Stick around.
