Dick Grannis comments on INTC purchase: DSP is one of three companies with licenses to makes chips with Qualcomm Inc.'s code-division multiple access, or CDMA, technology for wireless phones. The license isn't transferable, and Intel must negotiate a new agreement if it wants to build CDMA semiconductors. Qualcomm hopes to sign a new agreement with Intel and is open to including newer CDMA technology that lets wireless networks carry data traffic at high speed, Qualcomm spokesman Dick Grannis said.
