Dick Grannis comments on INTC purchase:

DSP is one of three companies with licenses to makes chips
with Qualcomm Inc.'s code-division multiple access, or CDMA,
technology for wireless phones. The license isn't transferable, and Intel must negotiate a new agreement if it wants to build CDMA semiconductors.

Qualcomm hopes to sign a new agreement with Intel and is
open to including newer CDMA technology that lets wireless
networks carry data traffic at high speed, Qualcomm spokesman Dick Grannis said. The companies haven't discussed the matter yet.
