Kevin here is some numbers.

All asian markets are currently down. Japan - 1%

Dollar getting weaker vs Yen 1.068 and vs Euro 1.082

Link to futures

mrci.com

Interesting tidbit:
``I expect the Dow to fall below 10,000 today (Friday),'
said Takashi Okura, head of foreign exchange at Banc One Corp. in
Tokyo. ``I don't want to hold dollars today as the dollar could
fall below 106 yen' during New York trading.

Of course maybe AG chose this time to speak out since
he knows PPI is benign and he doesnt want the markets
to go crazy.

And options expirations too.

Should be interesting day.

BTW also heard a rumor that GS is sporting a 1 billion dollar loss due gold short positions. Single case or
tip of the iceberg??

When was the "irrational exuberance' speech?....and how long before the markets recovered?

A few thoughts on Greenie:

thestreet.com

"key question is whether the recent decline in equity [risk] premiums is permanent or temporary. ... "

Does that mean Greenie thinks the market is currently oversold...

Maybe the end of the summer sale tomorrow morning...lot's of 'crash' predictions out there...should be a fast moving day tomorrow...we'll see
