>>>The problem is not so much Greenspan as the investing public that hangs on his every word. Why do we wait with baited breath for his next speech? Why do we react to every little burp from Greenspan? Why do we give Greenspan more than his fair share of air time? Consider CNBC with their ridiculous "briefcase indicator", etc. etc>>>

Andreas, "WE" don't give him air time. The "news" programs dictate the coverage we recieve. I always try to remember the "news" programs are in the entertainment business. They are only there because we watch and advertizers pay to run commercials for us to see in between the crap they show. Scare tactics make people watch. The scarier the better. Impartial analysis of facts are not the #1 concern. Getting people to watch is.
I watch far less "news" than I ever have.

This was a manipulated move by the news media. Once some selected stocks, particularly the financial sector, get hit hard today, the MMs, pigs and hogs will buy them by the millions to fatten their coffers late afternoon. I have seen it happen umpteen times!
