Maybe AMD themselves can't get to 1 GHz without copper.

Barrett already said that Intel will probably hit 1 GHz in the second half of 2000. (He said it in kind of a "By the way" tone.) Obviously Intel won't be using copper interconnect by that time.

That's an easy one. On this issue, Intel is right. AMD is wrong.
