Betty, re: SmartPhones, stock quotes, etc... Stock quotes and other unexciting text usually require very small files in the range of a few kilobytes. Even scaled down web pages ("web clippings") are extremely small. A fax or a voice message or an mp3 song or a phone list (an entire Yellow Pages) might require more room. One exciting area is that of wireless information retrieval such that the Palm VII currently boasts. It would be similar to an advanced Motorola pager that keeps track of news, weather, sports, etc... on a continual basis with automatic updates. Subscribers can request that data be transmitted or can view web pages without illustrations. No removable storage would be required at all for that. In any case, SmartPhones and PDA's will merge.
