Michelle-

Most of the increase in the ppi is coming from autos, tobacco, and energy. Isn't this usually passed on to the consumer? I would assume the cpi will be up also, but I have been wrong many times before. However, everyone has been saying this is a one time aberration due to new car models coming out and tobacco settlements.

I can't think of any component of the PPI that doesn't pass through. Even things like machinery pass through eventually.
