Jim, have you also noticed the discrepancy between the title, "1GHz copper Athlon production starts next week," and the first line, which said, "The first copper Athlon production should roll out of AMD's Dresden Fab 30 next week, after the plant's official opening on Wednesday."?

I don't recall AMD ever claiming that Dresden will get 1 GHz right off the bat, but as usual, the YUK Register puts the anti-Chipzilla in an overly optimistic light. Brilliant.

Jimmy,

Re: "1GHz copper Athlon production starts next week ... if AMD can get
this up fast, it could be sitting pretty at last."

Right, Jimmy ... Copper Athlons next week. <ggg> Have you heard that
IBM is discontinuing their Aptiva line in retail stores ... Sales just over
the Internet now. There shouldn't be any problem with MOBO supply with
this "business plan". With IBM's help, AMD should be "sitting pretty" (tm theregister).

Make It So,
