on a similar note...

i jumped over to beta for a visit to try the new email feature. what a pain that turned out to be.

i won't go thru all the gory details, but suffice it to say that there were username/password problems, and poorly written instructions with inconsistent use of terminology, just for starters. to add to the aggravation, the 'help' files were/are anything but. and i sent requests for tech assistance to two separate email links on 10/5. i finally got ONE response yesterday (10/14) and not only was the response confusing and unhelpful, it was strung out (or unwrapped) in such a manner as to make printing it impossible.

so i emailed another SI individual and copied them my original problem and i was told that they'd take care of it when they got back into town tuesday.

so guess what? i don't give a good rat's butt about SI email in the first place. just thought i'd check out the scene. but if they make it so finicky and glitchy and complex that an average computer user encounters major problems just signing up... then they take 5 days to respond to a request for help and the response then is inadequate, and the next person who is tapped, knowing all this has transpired says, "i'll get back to you in another 4 days.... ha!! they can keep their little email hustle.

shoulda' known better.

:)
