Ted, Re:<chuck - RE <This is too abrupt a transition. They should have done that in Q1.>> I agree with Chuck, it may have some negative effect on IBM's AMD system sales, but it would be minute. Also, according to IBM, the changes would go into effect in January - which is not necessarily the beginning of January, and may not affect AMD system sales in Q4. My only problem with this IBM's decision to go 100% online business is, that their web site is not yet very conducive/friendly for online sales. The article also indicates that it's a temporary decision, and they may go back to retailers when they figure out how to differentiate Aptivas on store shelves. I noticed that Compaq made changes to their web site and now it includes Athlon system picture right on their home page with a link to their New Athlon systems. Now they list all their Athlon models on their site.
