I was at Geneva last week and spent some time on the Q and G* stands.

Just a couple of points:-

1. There was a lot of hype about 3G all over the show. But not very much actual tangible at the moment. Q had the mock-up of a concept phone for 3G but it was a bit 'modelish' and personally I couldn't see the point of showing it.

2. Saw PdQs. Greeeeeeeaaaat. Well done Q. Can't wait to get one for my wife. She'll love it.

3. Questioned as many as I could very thoroughly about royalties. It seems that W-CDMA wil definately pay royalty to the Q. That so far as I was concerend is the key point. OK it is going to take two years to get 3G going but as it does Q is going to earn massively. MW said there were more mobile phones per sq ich in Geneva than anywhere else on E
Earth. I agree with MW ( who I missed on the G* stand bu one day) but just wait for a couple of years till 3G starts. Everyone in the Western world will be walking around with his own phone. My guess is that he won't even have a fixed phon at home unless he has xDSL at 10 Mgbt/sec. and that will be for the equivalent of todays TV since my guess is that TV as we know it today will not exist in three to five years time.

Best regards,

L
