SEG has a market cap of $7.2 bn. Its 69MM shares of VRTS are worth 6.3 bn. Throw in its holdings of SNDK and ZOOX and you come to total holdings of roughly $6.85 bn. I realize this is all pre-tax, but there are ways (tracking stock?) to unlock the value without arousing the tax man.

It sort of suggests that the Drive business is being valued pretty cheap.

Of course, maybe that's all it's worth, but it's interesting that SEG's book value (pre-tax) was up $2.70 today while the stock was down.

I bought some today.
