Pat,

Mr Fun is a guy (or perhaps a girl...we don't really know) just like us. He will be right sometimes he will be wrong sometimes. In the end we won't know until we see the earnings report so we should all just wait until then. However, and I don't say this with glee, I do recall mentioning back about 2-3 months ago that circuit switch sales would be impacted by emerging technologies and that LU has some transition problems. In order to get through those problems LU is offering long term leases and deals on circuit switches in order to delay the market for new telephony solutions. This may be the first were seeing of that....or.....it could end up being nothing but a blip on the map. Again, the jury should remain out until we see the data.

If Mr. Fun is wrong..............I will start calling him Mr. Not So Fun. I am expecting a visit from the margin man next week!]

Are you buying a security by stretching your margin based on a SI poster's bullish comments and now try to blame him?
Then you deserve to have Mr. Margin visit ya. The inflation pressure will not disappear next week. I would strongly discourage any use of margin in this market. You should have at least 20% cash in you folio. If possible, short some dogs to hedge your long position.

Look, Mr. Fun is gracious enough to give us his insights and analysis. He himself clearly states he can't be sure whether his best guess will be right or not. As long as he so lucidly sets forth the basis for his guesstimates, which are the most thoughtful and informed of any I've ever read on any thread, we should be damned pleased he does so. It's up to each of us to weigh everything we know and everything we aren't sure of, and, based on that, form our own judgment to go long or short, a little or a lot.

Moreover, Mr. Fun never even remotely implied that he could call the market in general, or that LU would be immune from any general downturn.
