Mr. Tucker. if you check, you'll find that the PPI was actually higher in February of this year for a number of product lines that it is now.

In fact commodity index has dropped 2% since 1996 and has risen 6% since 1990.

Finished goods index, all of it has been higher at one point than September of this year. Plug in the index you want to check and compare the annual

It is extremely difficult to justify an inflationary picture based on changes in prices from 1995 to 1999. If you look only at the jump from August 1999 to September, you're missing the decline of many products from February of this year until now.
