Little article in Fortune (or was it Forbes) about ALI this month. Says this private-pay company was thrown out with the Medicare-paid bathwater, hard to argue with that. The article said the best way to play ALI is with the convertible bonds, now way underwater, but yielding a whopping 17%. A bonus on top of that yield would be if the price recovers to a point where the bond could convert.
I'm more inclined to jump in the common shares now, they are way beaten down. I think the stock will be up significantly if held a year or two, downside from here looks negligible.
