This may be my crotchet - but I don't like to see entertainers get high marks for being influential. Bob Hope provided brief respite from the hardships of war - but the guy who invented Spam had much more to do with the welfare of millions of USA armed forces personnel than any entertainer. Sure, he gave them stuff to talk about, as did Mae West or Betty Grable. Or Willie Mays. But entertainers are creatures of the periphery. Until they run for office ... and then their real effectiveness is still arguable. <ducking>
