The Fed is a lot more than Greenspan though,we can only imagine the intense pressures he comes under. The tightening bias may have been the only thing he could squeeze out the Fed,with guys like Summers and Meyers pounding the table with all is well, all is well.(Summers was saying all is well right up to the Fed meeting)
And maybe a lot of people are just getting the message, for instance Larry Cutlow(the CNBC regular) who until today has always blasted Greenspan for his inflation fears, and always saying "don't raise".Today is yelling at the Fed,and saying they must raise rates right now--immediately.
Now who is the bad guy Cutlow or Greenspan?Neither one,is the answer,IMO.Max

Terry, Come'on dude,

it is orchestrated! Who can possibly forget Clinton, Rubin, and Mr. G running around the country late last September and early October, touting that the sky was falling to get the INF bailout? I believe that it is absolutely not an accident that Mr. G provided the 3rd rate decrease within minutes of the Congressional Delegation meeting at the White House (despite the fact that the House had rejected it) to sign the IMF bailout and within hours of the expiration of options.

One thing that is clear about modern politics is that if you repeat it enough times for the evening news, it will become true!

Just an Observation from the Swamp,

Berney
