re: usage on a wan... i own a few viewpoints, use them on the wan since two years. the bandwidth depends on the application. you can easily measure the bandwidth starting your application from a terminal or terminal emulator on a lan and then checking the actual traffic from the windows modem icon on the windows client or the winframe "winstation administration" icon If you also want to get a feeling of the actual response time, then use a PC or a terminal with a modem and ICA software, connect to your server with the right protocol (i.e. TCP versus ICA)you will be using and get through as many routers (if any) like in the real world, you will then see how the system behaves with a modem connection I've been using TCP/ICA over a modem for two years now, i get thru 4 routers before connecting to my server 300 miles away. Beware of animated icons and displaying heavy graphics (like Jpegs in netscape) the best applications for winframe over a modem are data entry, visual basic or alike. You can also do Office over a modem.. it works.. I have consistently seen 4-6 Kbps (kilobit per second) average usage.. Bruno
