Hi John,
Thanks for you message. I am taking off two weeks for Tahiti and Easter Island. Plane leaves at midnight from LA for Papeete. After these drops, my margin stands at about 50%, so it's a long way to 35% equity. Come what may I don't expect any problems.

On Nov 2, I will find out where I stand, unless I get in and check my portfolio's on MSN. All it takes is an internet connection. The internet is changing the world.

The drive to LA begins in 1 hour. Take care,
carl

Re: "as far as MSFT, DELL & INTC.. a favorite trick they do have is to sell puts then take the $$from the puts to buy stock into the company treasury.....this drives the price of the stock up, which usually causes the puts to expire worthless..."

John, with the volumes traded each day on these issues, it is impossible for them to use the premiums from the sale of puts to buy enough shares to affect the price.

BTW, did I miss your explanation on how you managed to trade options for 8 years when there was no options market?
