Merced systems, AKA Itanium, based on real live functional Merced silicon, have been demonstrated in public on several occasions. That moves them beyond the "foil" stage. If you want to talk about Merced benchmarks then we can talk about foils.

K6-2 in e-machines?

My understanding was that emachines are now only Celeron?

Well in todays paper, there is very large, color add for AMD K6-2 300 emachines. It did not look like a mis-print. It had the AMD logo and every thing. My guess is that AMD probably will get less than $20 for this CPU but the chip probably comes from the unsold, written down inventory, which is good.

The real question is that whether emachines is now using K6's? And they will do so during the X-Mass season? That could be some large volumes.
