**OT** TB, leave this nonsense about overhead. MSFT produces a crappy product. I never spend so much hours a week fixing my car as I do rebooting Windows or reconfiguring it.

Now I have a ASDL card inside my computer and if I dare to change any configuration I must reinstall it all.

Low overhead equals crappy products.

Would you like to drive a WindoCar model 2000?? or fly a WindoPlane 2000 instead of a Boing 747??

People ignore the issue of profitability versus reliability. Just think about it,- if cars or airplanes or medical products were performing as Windows were will we be??

Speaking of another myth productivity via PC's has any one counted the army of new IS workers only there to reconfigure or reboot your computer?? if at home or at work??

At least for me I spend over 30 hour only to install the ASDL card. Why??

First instruction were not clear from the card manufacturer

Second Bell Atlantic delivered in print the wrong DNS number

Third only after calling the card company I was told that they missed to include in teh instalation disk an utility who erases previous configuration

Fourth Northon Utilities is not prepared to receive the changes.

Fifth the IRQ redirection software from MSFT does not recognise the changes

and the list goes on - so were are the improvements due to low overhead??

How will this expense figure into productivity?? Or is the IS expense a myth.

Now on top of all this teh ASDL connection did not improved much as the Internet is overloaded anyway. So were is the productivity gain by technology?? All I know I failed to be productive in a big way those last 10 days.

So I am the exception or the norm in waisting precious time in adopting new technologies

technology company with comparatively virtually no capital investment, little overhead, massive margins, and still virtually no competition.....

i don't care if bill gates and company can invent software that will go the the john for you!!!

31,000 employees = 8% of GDP
150 Million American worker Bees = 92% of GDP

It insults my intelligence as i am one of those 150 million hard worker bees.

, microsoft has made much more money on stock options than selling software, it's a stock whore first and a software company 2nd.

I know the pollyanna's don't see this at all.
