Not a stupid question Carolyn. I've been in and out of digl since it's crash in Jan 98. No established leader yet. digl has a very good shot at it.

There are some really big names in the test equipment bus but the key here is the portability and price of digl equipment. In this they are the leader IMO

As I see it now, the leaeders in DWDM Hardware (this is the complement infrastructure that solve DIGL makes its testing gear & monitoring software) are JDSU, CIEN, HLIT, CSCO (Cerent) ? , ETEK, LU, NT, Alcatel etc..

DIGL doesn't compete with them in fact they are all on their customer list. Exception is CIEN - they acquired a company with a similiar key strength as DIGL (DWDM software & management solutions). If a company wants to create the same capabilities that CIEN has now, DIGL might be a takeover candidate since their sales are still low compared to market potential.

In DWDM software & testing no leader has yet emerged. In fact the only companies with a distinct capability in this field I know of are CIEN and DIGL. Well, DIGL - since it has no proprietary hardware platform to support just supports ALL or most DWDM manufacturers and thus may evolve as DWDM/managemenet-software leader down the road..

best regards
