I'm still so new, but have seen the success others have had. Stocks I have gotten into because of P&F, and those Piffers who have pulled my coattails, have all done well. I'm a buy
and hold type person, basically, but want to learn timing, and when to go to cash. I am close to six months into my "learning year," and so far trust P&F the most. Plus, everyone, and
I mean everyone, has been so kind and generous with their advice.
Good luck.

Here has been my experience Jdin. As most posters have said "it's an art."

I've been trying to work on it and get better since April and have had some real nice selections. However, just like art, you won't become proficient until you have looked at and done enough charts by hand. Just like art - I think the key is the hand work.

It's also a discipline - this is where I stumble. When Metrocom was running I wanted to jump in - so I did. I bought at 40 when both the chart and Tom were clearly saying hold off until support is hit in the 18-19 range. It went to 50+ in a flash and within short order was back in the low 20's. Since this act of stupidity, I have watched what I believed to be good stocks move higher when Tom and the chart were saying wait for a pullback. I've waited (in most cases) and it does pay off. It may take longer to get your hands on an issue that you really want to own but at least when you get it you wont get cut in half. MDT was my recent ignorant move and as bummed as I was to sell it - I dumped it on Friday.

It's a great method if your willing to embrace it learn and the discipline. The hard part for me is breaking down the old belief system and learning the new :-)

Good luck

Nas
