Paging and SMS is supposed to be provided by the existing handset designs. According to '98 10K, (top of pg 9) " In addition to supporting voice services, the G* system is also expected to function as a worldwide paging and alphanumeric messaging service. .....G* phones are currently being designed with a built-ion paging and messaging feature that allows the user to receive a page or a short alphanumeric message while the unit is in a very-low-power "quiet listening only" mode." [NOTE: I THINK that means without requiring the antenna to be extended] "Separate G* messaging and paging units may also be developed by G* or third party vendors."

I'm not sure if the necessary software is set up to support all that at time of service launch. And it seems position location service is being delayed for sw reasons, as well.

Pricing? Well, except for the vague and conflicting accounts in the press out of Geneva, have heard nothing. I think each SP will announce prices when/as he's really ready to start revenue service (i.e., probably not for a few more weeks).
