Ross, excellent, concise analysis me thinks. I can't see a 500 point blow off resulting in a sustained rally. That was fine under last October's economic conditions, but until there is clear evidence that inflation is settling back down, I think the markets will be bouncing off of every negative indicator (PPI, CPI, employment numbers, etc.) that comes out.

One thing to think about. After November 2 quarterly report and just before November options expiration, the FED meets again.
