The only alternative for "boring" I know is "monotonous." After reading your post, I'd also suggest "self-centered." Just took a quick spin through PubMed with the search terms "boring" and "psychology," oddly enough, there were several articles, but when I clicked on the header, got the message that the article didn't exist. This never happened before. Revenge of the nerds?

Possibly you mean anhedonia, the inability to experience emotions (particularly but not only pleasure).

BTW, Prozac seems to have a dramatic effect on people with this condition.
