NATO BOMBED CHINESE EMBASSY 'DELIBERATELY'

Nato deliberately targeted and bombed the Chinese embassy in Yugoslavia during the Kosovo conflict because it was being used to transmit enemy communications, a report says.

The embassy in Belgrade was taken off a prohibited targets list after Nato electronic intelligence detected it sending army signals to the Yugoslav forces, says The Observer newspaper.

It says Nato suspected a month before the attack that the Chinese embassy was acting as a rebroadcast, station for President Slobodan Milosevic's forces after alliance air strikes destroyed his own transmitters.
