Tenchusatsu,

www.msi.com.tw
The MSI site had the 6167 on the front page. Had the news release announcing the board.
Now if you go back thru the news releases on their website, it is gone also. The website has been sterilized concerning Athlon. One bios update is all that is left of the 6167 mobo.

MSI is updating their website quickly. Already has the 810E mobos.

I emailed MSI and this was their response:
(they would not tell me the "reasons")

Hi! For some reasons, MS-6167 could not be released on our www.
Attached is the spec. for this board for your reference.
If you are interested in MS-6167, please contact with our branch or distributors in your territory.
Thanks!

It may not be Intel, but I would like to know the "reasons" MSI chose to sterilize their website of AMD.

Could Intel be extending their "Gateway advertising" soft money to mobo manufacturers? MSI's front page is all Intel mobos.

No, probably MSI just got MAD at AMD...................

Re: MSI wasn't very diligent in updating their web site...

On the contrary, they were perfectionists in removing virtually every trace of the 6167 and any indication that there has ever been such a thing as an Athlon.

As long as this remains the case, I will suspect, at the very minimum, actions on the part of the Intel account reps that deal with MSI. From how high up their instructions came, I have no idea - but I doubt the local contacts came up with this strategy entirely on their own. Especially in light of the sue VIA but encourage SIS and ALI program.
