Mr F...on WWF, its not really my thing (especially while I have SCMR on the mind), and while wrestling is fake, their numbers are real and kids 12-17 (and some friends of mine!) live and breath this stuff...also the underwriting team is top notch, including Bear, Stearns, Credit Suisse First Boston, Merrill Lynch and Wit Capital and anticipate raising $150M...also, for those folks who invest based on what their kids are buying ala Pokemon and KIDE, this may be just the ticket...a few random thoughts: o WWF makes money and is growing to the tune of earning some $56m on rev of $251, which ain't too shabby o WWF have a top ranked cable TV network and 2 magazines with circ of 6M o wwf.com gets 110M hits/month, which ain't peanuts o 4th ranked sportsite and 3rd ranked news and info site for 12-17 yr olds o 30 of the 60 highest bought payperviews ever were WWF events o WWF has the 6th most popular action figure line right now (Pokemon KIDE fans take note) o WWF has the 1st and 2nd most popular video game right now o WWF has 4 of the top 20 selling videos right now o WWF merchandise can be found at almost every major clothing retailer right now o WWF holds the record for the most items of a kind, selling on the Home Shopping Network in a day o WWF is always one of the top 10 selling events, on Ticketmaster Online o WWF's AOL area is one of the most popular areas on AOL o Seems like sex, violence and sports are getting trendier and the likes of Playboy with new online offshoot, Nascar racetrack, NY Yankees (20%), etc are all looking to cash in on this o I think this is a true sign that the IPO marketplace is nutz when anyone from Martha Stewart to WWF are doing an ipo, but just one man's opinion. There is also significant risk associated with the operation with pending lawsuits for negligence. Personal choice as to whether to play or stay...my money still drifts toward all the internet plumbing and wiring stuff and various flavors of the day, but then again, I am sure that the offering will do very well for most day one investors who want to own a piece of The Rock!
