Selling oil from the nation's strategic reserves to protect New York residents from high heating oil prices is a "boneheaded idea," the president of the Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association said Thursday.
"The strategic petroleum reserve is there purely for strategic reasons," said Dewey F. Bartlett Jr. "It is not there to be used as a means to manipulate the market."

UAE Plays Down Talk of Extending Oil Cuts: (also mentions crude last up .61 to $22.50, and expectation for rising demand going into winter)

I'd also like to thank all of the regulars on this thread for educating this "tech investor" since late last year. I love the "oil patch", and have been very comfortable trading my "regulars" since; netting a substantial sum along the way. This thread IS the authority on oil!!

I've been buying of late and am quite comfortable doing so, as I'd rather ride a little down turn (and add on weakness )than miss the next pop. I agree that Mon. or Tuess will see an upturn, as we seem to be short-term oversold (perhaps maybe more so Mon A.M.!).

I added lot's of HAL on Friday. RIG, WFT, & NE, comprise the rest of my oil holds at the moment. I want ESV, MRL, CAM, FLC, PGO, GLBL and DO if I can buy them right.

regards,

Larry

P.S. PAIR (Pairgain) is my largest tech stock holding, followed by FON & GBLX.
