Mike, thanks for the article. The ones to watch are the groups suing AT&T to open up its cable systems (TCI and future Mediaone) to competitors. I find myself asking the same questions as you. Why would AT&T want to spend billions upgrading 70's technology cable plants so that they can share access with competitors. If this happens there will be little incentive for AT&T to make a significant capital investment to make voice over HFC the standard in the cable plant.
