Ray, the company provided us printed specs at the shareholders meeting, but has not updated their website.

The specs at the Samsung site identically match the Valence specs we were provided, so you could refer to that site for comparison.

Shareholders have since been told by management that the January specs have been further improved, and the cells being distributed are 30% better with regards to energy density. (Hence my comment that I would like to see the final product specs from an OEM to confirm this.)

Regarding control circuitry, you might note the NEC/Moli Energy PR distributed on 10/3/99 at the Power99 meeting, wherein they highlighted the benefits of using Manganese dioxide for cathode materials instead of Cobalt, for their li-ion cells. One of the benefits was the vastly improved performance through a wide temperature range, and the increased safety at high temperatures, which obviated the need for the complex control circuitry. They specifically mentioned the weight saving for the final cell due to simpler circuitry.

One of the other slide talks at the Power99 meeting showed performance of cells based on different chemistries, and you might want to review those slides. (I don't have the URL with me at this time, though I believe it was posted here and/or on yahoo in the 10/3 - 10-7 time frame.)
