michael, you mentioned buying merck at 8 x earnings...i guess paying for a pe of eight is ok for good quality growth stocks <g> i was thinking of thefarmerinthedell...if the pe skids to 10 (does it deserve even that ?) we'd have a stock price of six...

may us pooters live in interesting times <g>

i find it interesting that educated people who work in complex professions can't see its silly to have the nasdaq at a pe of over 100...wasn't there a time people's jaws dropped at the thought of a 100 year bond ? who knows what will happen along the way...but i trust mickey mouse will be around to entertain kids...will the big co's in the nas be around ?

ike

MB - (...Nah, they never mentioned 200 years. That was my prosaic license...)

Is prosaic something like chiropractic? Is it covered by medical insurance, or is it actually effective? Can you get a license over the internet? -g-
