Accidently responded to the post you linked to instead of you. Message 11619645

What it said was that if you continue to pan down starting in '94 the VIX stayed low between 11 and 13 for years. Not exactly reliable for a short play trigger.

what is even more telling is that the VIX did not get back to under 30 until mid March of 88!
