Why, sure they are! Mr. Croc's ash-handled hammer looks just like the one his dad used...and my Estwing looks just like my dad's.

But I know about "junk drawer hammers" too... Actually, a Stanley Fiberglass is several cuts above most junk drawer hammers... Most of them have these rubber handgrips that slide down the handle while you're hammering... or that have heads that fly off at inopportune moments...

But yeah, a hammer and its hammerer do bond with each other over time... same with axes... Now ask me about my favourite wood splitter... no... maybe you'd better not ask... Suffice to say that it's got a good long, sharp edge, and the head is just wide enough to split hard maple like butter,...but not so wide that it gets wedged and stuck half way down the stick...

..ah...nevermind....
