RE: BGST? What concerns me about all these ventures is that #1 they are commodity operations. #2 what makes them cheaper than anybody else. 3# how long will it be before you just download the film you want to watch directly into your tv receptacle. To me these seem to be developmental business with finite lifespans unless they evolve into something else. So why should I invest hard earned money into a situation like that. It seems to me like anyone can sell a commodity product on the internet which means that in order to improve their share price all they have to do is show increased revenues. the way to do that is to sell items at a loss. I went through this once before with D-rams. don't want to do it again. Also don't want to be the bagholder. It almost seems like the likely canditate to be successful at this type of business would be a blockbuster. They have a vast inventory of used whatever and they can produce the economies of scale to actually sell this stuff at a profit eventually.
RE: Sycamore- yes it will be very expensive and I think a much cheaper and better value if ORTEL which is not an ipo but owns 18% of tellium a competitor with a much larger contract in the bag than Sycamore. Of course if you can get SYcamore at the iPO price- don;t refuse any!
