Tommy

Don;t think so..not until after the CPI...the selloff was deep and hard last week...we're near support on several indexs and with better support slightly lower...

500/1000 point crashes usually happen after option exp week...as well, i've seen if the Fri of opp ex is UP, MON is down, and visa-versa...we could be sideways till Tues am...

not saying this is done...but because of the 600+++ points already slashed out of the market...we look very oversold short term here...

if this happens, it will happen next week...of course it would be great to just get it over with....

if AG just raised rates as he should have, we would be off to the races...

this guy is very diabolical..trying his damdest to keep the bulls from stampeding in the streets<GGG>...

Ok everybody what's the prognosis. Will tomorrow replicate October 1987, October 1929, or is this just a little sell-off that should be bought.

Not enough panic yet. We probably grind down for a while. Wake me up when the HI/LO adds another X or the 10 Week turns up. Dick

Tommy,

While tommorrow may not be 1987 or 1929, I personally wouldn't view it as a dip to be bought. Certainly there are always issues to buy irrespective of the market. However, i can't help but feel that the general market may experience something the small cap stocks went through in the Spring of 1998. Namely, it wasn't so much the selling pressure as it was the absence of buyers that did many of those stocks in. Witness the bond market today. Anyone care to confirm the lack of liquidity I'm seeing? Bond positions are easily marked down 10% from matrix pricing at the market. With Y2K looming, there's a great deal of interest in just plain waiting the thing out. I'd be very careful on the long side with tight stops, and be looking for some great shorts.

Tommy,
I think tomorrow will be an ugly day, but not 1929 or 1987 style. I do not think it is time to go long and I don't think that it will be, except for nimble traders, until December of this year. Then all aboard!!!!!

Or course, if the indicators tell me differently, I will change my tune.
