This last paragraph says it all: Whether this ends so called "naked shorting" remains to be seen. Frankly, the incidents of actual naked shorting is much, much less than people think it is. Most of the cases referred to in the memos and press deal with instead illegal insider selling. Insiders and promoters in "pump and dump" schemes take big blocks up stock up north and use Canadian brokers to dump it into the market. Naturally, this kind of massive selling depresses the market, which the insiders and promoters (the very people selling) are blaming on "naked shorters Corporate Insiders themselves are the ones responsible for the majority opf illegal sales wher by the sell restricted shares through canadian firms and the nonce their stock is free trading they cover the short" I have pointed this out about 500 posts ago..and have been pounding on the table for years ..If you are an insider your days of selling stock in Canad are indeed over But that has nothingh to do with legitamte naked sales in which you have a bonafide and genuine market risk..The END
