(They are grafted onto roots of trees that don't get tall, so they don't get tall, themselves. For some reason, I think the roots are crab-apples, but that might be wrong. Dwarf trees fruit sooner, and are easier to pick, but don't live as long. More productive per acre than standard trees.)
