Not sure about the rules for your 401ks - but can't people sell and move into cash - as long as they keep their $ in the 401k?

Meaning the US trade deficit can not go on forever - and the stronger economies are throughout the world, the better it would serve the US (and the rest of the world). But I get the feeling the US does not want the other economies to get too strong .... that would not be in their best interests either.
