Sounds like you have a good investment strategy, a matter of a fact it's similiar to mine. I'm always long my core positions, use sell targets for my intermediate ones, which in turn lets me use my capital gains to enter more speculative plays. I've seen too many investors who do not have a plan, or have no discipline when it comes to investing.

yuppo...

my slant is toward the quick trades, whether for the day if my stop is hit, like msft today...and very close to getting bounced from second position.

or holding for several days to weeks/months depending on broader market psychology...

and yes, nice to see the diversity on this board...I would recommend though, that folks take a look at several threds to not get locked into one way of thinking...
