Jill, on us boomers
heard several pieces in last couple months on this interesting topic

many reasons why boomers are likely to continue to produce, earn money, and not draw on their retirement funds

- they enjoy being productive
- they enjoy passing on knowledge, experience to younger workers
- they enjoy receiving respect from youngers
- they feel socially connected
- they feel true affiliation with a team
- some have not come close to saving enough
- some still make shitloads of money
- some really make shitloads of money

and best of all:
- they have read statistics that the average #years drawing upon pension funds before death, when in full retirement, is a lousy THREE YEARS

another interesting tidbit is that a large percentage of retired people are NOW earning on a combined basis more than their final year of work... add pension to annuities to Social Security and presto... and some do not have to reach into their 401k's yet although very much in retirement

I was shocked to learn this past year that my retired father earns now 80% more than his final year as a professor... TIAA/CREF done good by him

we got a strong stock market until at least 2010 by my estimation
