Looks like I was premature in saying the OSX was ignoring bad news. Only for half an hour.

The Dow may or may not have bottomed ( I doubt it) but the techs are taking a heck of a beating today. But still down only about as much as the Dow from the peak. During the fall 1998 drop the techs went down a lot more than the Dow. So still a lot of downside in this area even if the Dow stabilizes.

Gold taking a beating today, but the gold stocks not doing too badly considering. Suggests we will see a turn in gold soon.

My short position in the techs is saving my ass. Losses in OSX more than offset by gains on the short side.
